Na 12 jaar werd de kabelbaan van Hoei opnieuw geopend. Op 6 april 20212 raakte een helikopter een van de kabels van de baan, waarop het toestel neerstortte. De piloot en zijn passagier kwamen daarbij om. De kabelbaan zelf raakte zwaar beschadigd. Hoei hoopte de kabelbaan snel weer operationeel te krijgen. Dat blijkt echter niet zo eenvoudig te zijn. Het duurde 12 jaar.
