Volgens de legende werden in het verleden oude paarden die niet meer bruikbaar waren vanaf deze plek in de diepte gegooid, maar in werkelijkheid waren het de karkassen van dode paarden - geen levende dieren - die vanaf deze rots werden gegooid en overgelaten als prooi voor de roofzucht van wilde dieren.
