Nyon is een gemeente en stad in het kanton Vaud in Zwitserland met ongeveer 16.000 inwoners. De Duitse naam, Neuss, wordt niet meer gebruikt.
Nyon ligt op 403 m boven NAP, 34 km zuidwestelijk van de kantonshoofdstad Lausanne en 22 km ten noordoosten van Genève. De gemeente ligt op een terras boven het meer van Genève tussen de mondingen van de rivieren Boiron en Asse en heeft een oppervlakte van 6,8 km². Van de gemeente was in 1997 51% van het oppervlakte bebouwd, 8% bestond uit bos en 41% werd gebruikt voor de landbouw.
