Net ten noorden van het stuwmeer ligt Romkerhall, het kleinste koninkrijk ter wereld. In de negentiende eeuw was dit het jachtterrein van koning Georg V. Hij was het ook die de 60 m hoge Römkerhaller waterval liet aanleggen. In de jaren zeventig werd het gebied - uit vergetelheid - niet aan de een of andere gemeente toegevoegd. Daardoor kon de nieuwe bezitter Romkerhall in 1988 tot het kleinste koninkrijk ter wereld uitroepen en de prinses van Sachsen tot koningin benoemen!
