De Plattenburg is een waterburcht bij de ambtvrije gemeente Plattenburg in de Landkreis Prignitz in het noordwesten van Brandenburg. Het is ook een deelgemeente van Kletzke, een wijk van de gemeente Plattenburg. De Plattenburg werd voor het eerst schriftelijk genoemd in 1319.
Het kasteel bevindt zich in de Prignitz. Vanwege de schilderachtige ligging in het bos- en waterrijke gebied was het kasteel in de middeleeuwen de zomerresidentie van de bisschoppen van het bisdom Havelberg.
