Woppenroth is een plaats in de Duitse deelstaat Rijnland-Palts, en maakt deel uit van de Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis.
Woppenroth telt 237 inwoners. De oppervlakte van Woppenroth is 8,67km².
Woppenroth was een van de dorpen in de Hunsrück die model stonden voor het fictieve dorp "Schabbach" in het eerste deel van de Heimat-filmcyclus van Edgar Reitz. Woppenroth vormde vanaf 1980 het middelpunt en het decor van de film-activiteiten. Het gehele eerste deel van de cyclus, Heimat - Eine deutsche Chronik, bestond uit elf afleveringen en had een totale lengte van 924 minuten. Behalve in Woppenroth werd ook gefilmd op veel andere plaatsen in de Hunsrück, bijvoorbeeld in Gehlweiler. Ook in het derde deel van de cyclus, Chronik einer Zeitenwende, vormde Woppenroth weer het decor. Veel dorpsbewoners vervulden grote of kleine rollen in de film.
