Alt Olvenstedt is een wijk gelegen aan de westelijke rand van de Saksen-Anhalt hoofdstad Magdeburg. Het beslaat een oppervlakte van 3,2008 km² en heeft 3.938 inwoners.
Aan de westgrens van het voormalige dorp Olvenstedt begint de Landkreis Börde, ten noorden en oosten liggen de wijken Großer Silberberg en Neu Olvenstedt. De zuidgrens wordt gevormd door de federale weg 1. De bouwzone is slechts 1 km² groot, in het noorden en zuiden van de wijk liggen landbouwgronden van de Magdeburger Börde. Van west naar oost wordt de wijk doorkruist door de Sülze.
