Het Theater Rudolstadt is een theater in Rudolstadt in Thüringen. Het voert zijn traditie terug op het in 1792/93 opgerichte vorstelijke zomer theater. Het Thüringer Landestheater Rudolstadt is tegelijkertijd de hoofdlocatie van de Thüringer Symphoniker Saalfeld-Rudolstadt. Om die reden luidt de volledige naam Thüringer Landestheater Rudolstadt – Thüringer Symphoniker Saalfeld-Rudolstadt GmbH. De drager van het theater is een samenwerkingsverband, waaraan de Landkreis Saalfeld-Rudolstadt en de steden Rudolstadt en Saalfeld/Saale deelnemen.
Het theater werd in opdracht van de regerende vorsten in Rudolstadt als zomer theater op het Anger gebouwd. Van 1794 tot 1803 werd het theater bespeeld door het Weimarse toneelgezelschap. Goethe ondertekende het contract hiervoor op 12 mei 1794. Het laatste punt was daarbij bijzonder omstreden, want het gaf niet alleen de hofdames, maar ook hun gasten vrije toegang. Goethe stemde in, maar het is bekend dat de gastspelen in Bad Lauchstädt en Rudolstadt een "briljante zaak" waren en de kamerheer "glimlachte met zijn hele gezicht" bij de afrekening.
