De schedel in het zuidelijke deel van de bergketen van de Haardt aan de oostkant van het Pfälzerwald in Rijnland-Palts is een bergpas op 513,7 m boven NHN, waarover de Totenkopfstraße van west naar oost loopt en op wiens pashoogte de Totenkopfhütte staat.
De bergkam ligt op het bosgebied van Maikammer tussen de Rotsohlberg in het zuidoosten en de Oberscheid in het noordoosten. 2,5 km oostelijk verheft zich de 672,6 m hoge Kalmit, de hoogste berg van de Haardt en van het gehele Pfälzerwald.
