De Köln International School of Design is een instituut van de Technische Hochschule Köln voor interdisciplinaire, projectgerichte studieprogramma's op het gebied van design.
Met de oprichting van de TH Köln in 1971 werden de sinds 1926 bestaande Kölner Werkschulen als vakgebied "Kunst en Design" geïntegreerd in de hogeschool. In 1991 werd de studierichting vrije kunst opgeheven en werd de designstudierichting omgevormd tot het zogenaamde "Kölner Modell", dat vooral wordt gekenmerkt door projectgericht onderwijs en het opheffen van traditionele vakgebieden en semesterstructuren. De diplomastudie in het vakgebied Design omvatte voor het eerst leergebieden zoals service-design, designmanagement, gender en design of ecologie en design. Sinds 2008 lopen de diplomastudies aan de TH Köln af. Nieuwe inschrijvingen worden alleen nog gedaan voor de bachelor- en masterstudieprogramma's.
