De Mechower See is een eutroof ijstijdse sloot binnen het biosfeerreservaat Schaalsee. Hij bevindt zich ten oosten van de gelijknamige gemeente Mechow, gelegen in de Kreis Herzogtum Lauenburg in Sleeswijk-Holstein, direct aan de landsgrens met Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
De Mechower See heeft met de Bäk een afvoer die in de vroege moderne tijd op ten minste vijf dammen kopersmelterijen respectievelijk kopermolens dreef. Hij ligt op de waterscheiding tussen het Ratzeburger See en de Schaalsee.
