Het kasteel Lindenau bevindt zich in het zuidbrandenburgse dorp Lindenau in de Landkreis Oberspreewald-Lausitz. Het renaissancekasteel is beschermd als monument.
Omstreeks 1200 werden in het gebied van de Pulsnitz en de Zwarte Elster grensbeschermingswerken aangelegd, aangezien in dit gebied de belangen van de Mark Meißen en zowel de Boven- als de Neder-Lausitz samenkwamen. De toenmalige burcht in Lindenau was als een motteburg op de Boven-Lausitzer zijde van de Pulsnitz aangelegd. Aan de tegenoverliggende zijde in de Mark Meißen ontstond in Großkmehlen eveneens een vestiging, waaruit het kasteel Großkmehlen zich ontwikkelde.
