Baruth, Ober-Sorbisch Bart, is een middelgroot dorp in het oosten van de Saksische Landkreis Bautzen. Het behoort tot de Oberlausitz en sinds de gemeentelijke hervorming van 1994 tot de gemeente Malschwitz. De plaats behoort officieel tot het Sorbische vestigingsgebied, maar de taal is de facto bijna verdwenen uit het dagelijks leven in Baruth.
De plaats ligt 15 km noordoostelijk van Bautzen in een heuvelachtige omgeving in de vallei van het Löbauer Wasser op 152 m boven NN. De westelijke omgeving is vlak en wordt doorkruist door de Albrechtsbach, Kotitzer Wasser en verschillende kleinere beken, terwijl in het oosten een landrug zich tot ongeveer 200 m verheft. Het hoogste punt is de 207 m hoge Schafberg ten noordelijk van het dorp. Ten noordoosten van Baruth bevinden zich uitgestrekte bossen.
