Kasteel Wörlitz in Saksen-Anhalt geldt als de oprichtersbouw van de Duitse klassiekheid en is een van de weinige Duitse gebouwen van het Palladianisme. Het in Wörlitz gelegen kasteel is, net als het bijbehorende Wörlitzer Park, onderdeel van het UNESCO-werelderfgoed.
Vanaf 1769 werd het Wörlitzer Park op verzoek van de toen 29-jarige prins Leopold III. Friedrich Franz van Anhalt-Dessau aangelegd in de stijl van een Engelse landschapstuin. Tegelijkertijd begon de bouw van het kasteel, waarvoor het vorige gebouw, een barok jachtslot, werd afgebroken. De architect was Friedrich Wilhelm von Erdmannsdorff. Het kasteel werd gebouwd voor de prins en zijn vrouw Luise prinses van Brandenburg-Schwedt en moest dienen voor de representatie van het vorstenhuis. De bouw werd in 1773 voltooid. Het wordt beschouwd als een oprichtersbouw van de Duitse klassiekheid. Als voorbeelden dienden oude en Engelse gebouwen evenals de architectuur van Andrea Palladio.
