Heldra is een dorpsdeel van de stad Wanfried in de Werra-Meißner-Kreis in Hessen. Bij Heldra hoort de wijk Bahnhof Großburschla, die zich in de loop der jaren heeft ontwikkeld rond het treinstation dat zich in het hoogheemraadschap Heldra bevindt, van de aangrenzende Thüringse plaats.
Heldra ligt aan de oostelijke rand van Noord-Hessen, bij de monding van de Heldrabach in de Werra. Het dorp is aan drie zijden omgeven door Thürings grondgebied. Aan de noordrand van het dorp komen de landweg 3244 en de gemeentelijke weg 6 samen; beide leiden naar de nabijgelegen federale weg 250. In het zuiden rijst, aan de andere kant van de Werra in Thüringen, de 503,8 m hoge berg Heldrastein, waarvoor Heldra zijn naam ontleent.
