Het Duitse Octrooibureau, tot 1998 het Duitse Octrooibureau, is een federale autoriteit in de portefeuille van het Federale Ministerie van Justitie en Consumentenbescherming, met het hoofdkantoor in München en vestigingen in Jena, Berlijn en Hauzenberg. In 2010 had het 2735 medewerkers, waaronder 827 octrooiverleners.
Het Octrooibureau is de centrale autoriteit op het gebied van industrieel eigendomsrecht in Duitsland en is onder andere verantwoordelijk voor het verlenen van octrooien, voor het registreren van gebruiksmodellen, merken en ontwerpen, evenals voor het informeren van het publiek over bestaande industriële eigendomsrechten. Erkende samenwerkingspartners van het DPMA in de deelstaten zijn de octrooinformatiecetrums, verenigd in de Werkgemeenschap van Duitse Octrooinformatiecetrums e. V.
