Deze obelisk is vervaardigd uit Walheimer Blaustein en werd in 1810 (tijdens de Franse bezetting) opgericht en herdenkt Pauline van Borghese, een zuster van Napoleon Bonaparte ( die eigenlijk Charlotte heet). Zij verbleef een aantal jaren in het nabijgelegen trappistenklooster Bergerbusch.
Obelisken werden (ook al eerder door Romeinen) gebruikt om het land te meten .
De verouderde obelisk is uitgebreid gerenoveerd. Het vormt een indrukwekkend uitkijkpunt over de stad Aken en startpunt voor een wandeling door het Wurmtal, Paulinewald en Weißen Weg.
Bij de Euregionale renovatie in 2008 zijn stoelen aanagebracht die doen denken aan een chaise longue waarop de Italiaanse beeldhouwer Antonio Canova Pauline Bonaparte-Borghese als Venus portretteerde.
