Stadstoren
Het is het jaar 1263. De oudste afdruk van het stadsschild van Borken onder de akte toont een uit machtige blokken opgetrokken romaanse burcht.
De burchtmuren met hun kantelen en de dubbele poort worden overschaduwd door machtige stadstoren. Van de muur zijn vandaag de dag slechts resten zichtbaar.
Vijf middeleeuwse stadstoren - de Diebestoren, de Holkenstoren, de Kuhmtoren, de Wedemhovetoren en de Windmühlentoren - zijn echter goed bewaard gebleven.
