Füchtorf ligt, omringd door de plaatsen Glandorf, Bad Laer, Versmold, Sassenberg en Milte, in het noordelijke deel van het Münsterland.

De Bever, die ontstaat door de samenvloeiing van de Salz- en Süßbach in Glandorf/Schierloh, stroomt door Füchtorf in het gebied Harkotten. Hier vormt ze gedurende enkele kilometers de grens tussen Füchtorf en Glandorf, en tegelijkertijd tussen de deelstaten Noordrijn-Westfalen en Nedersaksen.
De hoogste verhoging van de plaats is de Heppel.
Het grote Füchtorfer Moor is vandaag de dag een natuurreservaat.
