Füchtorf ligger, omgivet af byerne Glandorf, Bad Laer, Versmold, Sassenberg og Milte, i den nordlige del af Münsterland.

Bever, som opstår ved sammenløbet af Salt- og Süßbach i Glandorf/Schierloh, strømmer gennem Füchtorf i området Harkotten. Her danner den i nogle kilometer grænsen mellem Füchtorf og Glandorf, og samtidig mellem delstaterne Nordrhein-Westfalen og Niedersachsen.
Den højeste punkt i byen er Heppel.
Det store Füchtorfer Mose er i dag et naturreservat.
