Hamm-Rhynern [ˈriːnɐn] is met 59,22 km² het grootste stadsdeel van de stad Hamm in Westfalen qua oppervlakte. Het heeft 18.225 inwoners en daarmee een bevolkingsdichtheid van 305 inwoners per km². De plaats is voornamelijk landelijk-agrarisch beïnvloed.
Rhynern ligt in het hart van Westfalen aan de zuidkant van de Lippe. Zijn coördinaten ten opzichte van de oude dorpskerk zijn 51° 37′ 47,8″ N, 7° 51′ 29,2″ O, het ligt op 92,96 m boven zeeniveau. Dit zuidoostelijke stadsdeel wordt in het oosten begrensd door de gemeente Welver, in het zuiden door de stad Werl, beide in de Kreis Soest. In het westen sluit de stad Unna en de gemeente Bönen aan, beide in de Kreis Unna, en het stadsdeel Pelkum. In het noorden wordt Rhynern begrensd door de stadsdelen Mitte en Uentrop.
