Das ehemalige gräfliche Schloß Veldenz war die größte Burg an der Mittelmosel, bis es 1681 durch die Truppen des französischen Königs Ludwig XIV. zerstört wurde. Die weitläufige Ruine liegt in einem bei Mülheim abzweigenden Seitental der Mosel oberhalb des Ortes Thalveldenz auf einem nach drei Seiten steil abfallenden Bergsporn, in den die Anlage zum Teil eingegraben ist. Obwohl man nur wenige Gebäude wiedererrichtet hat, sind der Aufbau und die Wehrhaftigkeit der früheren Burg noch deutlich zu erkennen.Die Besichtigung der Burganlage ist während den angebotenen Führungen möglich.
