Cuxhaven is een havenstad in de Duitse deelstaat Nedersaksen. De stad ligt aan de Noordzee, bij de monding van de Elbe en telt ongeveer 52.000 inwoners. Het is een van de zeven Große selbständige Städte in Nedersaksen.
Cuxhaven is een belangrijke visserijhaven, en heeft een havendienst voor Hamburg en het Kielerkanaal . Daarnaast is de stad van betekenis voor het toerisme; van hier vertrekt een veerdienst naar Helgoland. Voor de kust bij Cuxhaven ligt het eiland Neuwerk, dat bij eb te voet of per waddenwagen bereikbaar is, en bij vloed alleen per schip.Cuxhaven heeft ook een veerdienst op Harwich.
