De Bodensee is een meer dat de grens vormt tussen Duitsland, Zwitserland en Oostenrijk. De regio is vooral bekend als badplaats en uitvalsbasis voor wandelingen in de Alpen, maar daarnaast is het ook ideaal geschikt voor een lange motorrit zoals deze. Starten en eindigen gebeurt in het goed bereikbare Konstanz.
