Hjerting is een wijk van Esbjerg in het zuidwesten van Jutland, Denemarken, ongeveer 7 km ten noorden van het centrum. In 2011 had het 7.289 inwoners. Met een geschiedenis als vissersdorp dat meer dan 700 jaar teruggaat, is het nu een exclusieve buitenwijk met uitzicht over het zandstrand en de Waddenzee. Hjerting heeft een geschiedenis die meer dan 700 jaar teruggaat. Het was oorspronkelijk een vissersdorp en haven voor Varde. In het midden van de 19e eeuw werd vlees geëxporteerd vanuit Hjerting naar Engeland totdat de haven van Esbjerg werd ontwikkeld. De wijk die sinds 1960 is uitgebreid, ligt aan de kust met uitzicht op het Skallingen-schiereiland. De Hjertingkerk, voltooid in 1992, is ontworpen door Alan Havsteen-Mikkelsen.
