Lindenborg Ådal heeft verschillende eilandjes die echte eilanden of schiereilanden waren in het fjordlandschap van de steentijd. Met de landverhoging na het einde van de ijstijd trok de zee zich terug en liet een vallei achter met beken en eilandjes omgeven door moerassen. Vaseholm is een van de iets grotere en nu bewoonde eilandjes in de vallei.
