Tarragona is een Spaanse stad en gemeente, de hoofdstad van de provincie Tarragona en van de comarca Tarragonés, gelegen in het zuiden van de autonome gemeenschap Catalonië. Gedurende de tijd van het Romeinse Rijk was het een van de meest prominente steden van het Iberisch schiereiland, als hoofdstad, achtereenvolgens, van de Romeinse provincies Hispania Citerior en Hispania Tarraconensis.
