De Alcazaba is een negende-eeuwse moslimverdediging in Mérida, Spanje. Net als andere historische gebouwen in de stad, is het onderdeel van de UNESCO Werelderfgoedlijst. Gelegen nabij de Romeinse brug over de Guadiana-rivier, de Puente Romano, werd het gebouwd door emir Abd ar-Rahman II van Córdoba in 835 om de stad te beheersen, die zich in 805 had gerebellieerd. Het was de eerste moslim alcazaba en omvat een grote vierkante lijn van muren, waarvan elke zijde 130 meter lang is, 10 m hoog en 2,7 m dik, gebouwd met hergebruik van Romeinse muren en Romeins-Visigotische gebouwen in graniet. De muren bevatten 25 torens met een vierkante basis, die ook als steunpunten dienden. Binnenin bevindt zich een aljibe, een regenwatertank inclusief een cistern om water uit de rivier te verzamelen en te filteren.
