Het ligt op 42° 44" 15" N en 0° 46" 25" O op een helling op 548 m boven zeeniveau, aan de linkeroever van de rivier Bayas. De gronden waarop het zich bevindt, bestaan uit mergel en okergel Yellow sandsteen.
De plek is bewoond sinds de prehistorie. Naast de rivier Bayas bevindt zich de zogenaamde Dolmen van de Andrinales, een van de vele prehistorische vindplaatsen in het gebied. Ontdekt in 1955 door Domingo Medrano, bestaat het uit een half dozijn zandstenen platen zonder bedekking of grafheuvel, die in de grond zijn verzonken rond een kamer en gang waarvan de as N-Z gericht is.
