De Cinémathèque française, in de Bercy tuinen, is gehuisvest in een modern gebouw ontworpen door Frank O. Gehry. De Cinémathèque is gewijd aan de cinema en beschikt over een Méliès-museum, tentoonstellingen, filmvertoningen, bijeenkomsten, conferenties, een bibliotheek en een boekwinkel. Georges Méliès, een genie van de cinema, werd gevierd door Martin Scorsese in Hugo Cabret voor zijn beroemde schelp in het oog van de maan.
