De brug van Valentré, een emblematisch monument van Cahors, werd gebouwd vanaf 1308 op initiatief van de consuls van de stad. Hij is volledig uit essenhout opgetrokken, is 172 m lang, heeft 8 bogen en 3 torens, waarvan de laatste meer dan 40 m boven de waterspiegel uitsteekt.
Voltooid rond 1380, is het altijd onderhouden. In 1998 werd de brug als onderdeel van de pelgrimsroute naar Santiago de Compostela opgenomen in de UNESCO-lijst van werelderfgoederen.
Het is een voetgangersbrug sinds 1995. Profiteer 's avonds van de verlichting om de brug van Valentré vanuit een andere hoek te ontdekken.
Het duiveltje dat je kunt zoeken op de centrale toren herinnert aan de legende van deze prachtige brug.
