Aire-sur-la-Lys is een stad en gemeente in het Franse departement Pas-de-Calais. De gemeente ligt aan de Leie , op de grens van Frans-Vlaanderen en Artesië. Ze telt ongeveer 10.000 inwoners, die Airois worden genoemd.Een oude vermelding van de plaats dateert uit de 9de eeuw als Aria monasterium. Uit de 11de eeuw dateert een vermelding als Aria.
