Nice is een Franse stad met 342.669 inwoners aan de Middellandse Zee in het departement Alpes-Maritimes in de regio Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
Nice is qua bevolking de vijfde grootste stad van Frankrijk en na Marseille de op een na grootste stad van de Provençaalse regio Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Nice is de zetel van de prefectuur van het departement Alpes-Maritimes. Het ligt tussen Cannes en het Prinsdom Monaco, ongeveer 23 kilometer van de grens met Italië. Samen met 48 andere gemeenten vormt Nice de gemeentelijke vereniging Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur. Het aantal inwoners in het stedelijk gebied bedraagt meer dan 944.000, de Aire urbaine heeft 1,1 miljoen inwoners.
