De geschiedenis van het Hospice van Tourcoing gaat terug naar de XIIIe eeuw, toen Mahaut de Guisnes in 1260 een stuk land schonk van 5 ½ bonniers (oude oppervlaktemaat) met daarop een eenvouding landhuis voor de opvang van de arme vrouwen van Tourcoing. Dit Hospice dateert uit dezelfde periode als die van Lille (Rijsel) en Seclin.
1998, de bejaarde bewoners verlaten het Hospice en worden ondergebracht in een nieuw onderkomen, Mahaut de Guisnes genaamd, in het ziekenhuis Gustave Dron. De stad Tourcoing wordt uitgevoerd, zodat het Hospice, rue de Havré, in het hart van de stad een nieuw culture plek vormt in het kader van de festiviteiten rondom Lille 2004.
