Gimont is een gemeente in het Franse departement Gers . De gemeente telde 3.016 inwoners op 1 januari 2019. De plaats maakt deel uit van het arrondissement Auch.Boven op de heuvel waarop Gimont gelegen is staat de Notre Dame kerk met zijn hoge toren.Het dorp ligt aan de rivier de Gimone en is omringd door meertjes. De wegen N124 en de D12 kruisen in het dorp. De wegen in het dorp Gimont zijn licht glooiend. Een overdekte open markt, duiventorens en vakwerk huizen sieren het dorp. Gimont is bekend om zijn Marché au gras . Er is een Ganzen- en eendenmuseum. Bij Gimont is een motorcrossbaan. Het dorp heeft vele voorzieningen, waaronder een ziekenhuis. In de wijk Cahuzac ligt het spoorwegstation Gimont-Cahuzac. Gimont is het Franse centrum van de Cisterciënzer kloosters : Abbaye de Planselve)
