Het klooster Varennes is een voormalige cisterciënzersabdij in de gemeente Fougerolles in het departement Indre, regio Centre-Val de Loire, in Frankrijk. Het lag ongeveer 10 km ten westen van La Châtre en 9 km ten oosten van Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre aan de rivier de Gourdon. Het klooster werd in 1148 gesticht door prins Ebbe II van Déols op de ruïnes van een oudere benedictijner vestiging. Het was een dochterklooster van het klooster Vauluisant uit de afstamming van Citeaux. De crisisjaren van de Honderdjarige Oorlog en de godsdienstoorlogen lijken het zonder grote schade doorstaan te hebben. Tijdens de Franse Revolutie werd het ontbonden en vervolgens landelijk gebruikt. Van 1901 tot 1920 was het een ontmoetingsplaats voor verschillende kunstenaars en literatoren zoals André Maurois en Roger Martin du Gard.
