Gelegen in het hart van de slagvelden en in het centrum van Albert, een stad die symbool staat voor de Eerste Wereldoorlog, toont dit museum, waarvan de ingang zich aan de voet van de basiliek bevindt, het leven van de soldaten in de loopgraven tijdens het offensief van 1 juli 1916. Een vijftiental nissen en vitrines zijn opgesteld in een 250 meter lange ondergrondse gang die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog als schuilkelder werd gebruikt. Geluidseffecten, beelden en licht dompelen de bezoekers onder in het dagelijkse leven van deze soldaten. De uitgang is in de openbare tuin.
