Het is het oudste monument in het historische centrum van Nancy en het enige overblijfsel van de middeleeuwse vestingwerken. Het symbool van de oude stadswijk van vandaag, werd gebouwd in de 14e en 15e eeuw en de torens werden tot de 19e eeuw gebruikt als gevangenis. Het in 2013 gerestaureerde gewelf in baksteen en steen is heel opmerkelijk
Het is alleen van buitenaf te zien.
