Op 16 april 2013 werd een 20 meter hoge observatietoren ingehuldigd op de oostelijke punt van het Plateau de Californie, een emblematische plek van de Grote Oorlog. Het maakt een historische benadering van het landschap mogelijk en herinnert ons aan het belang van hoogtepunten tijdens de oorlog.
Het biedt bezoekers die het beklimmen ook een onvergelijkbaar uitzicht op het dorp Craonne eronder, maar ook op de Chemin des Dames en de Champagne-vlakte...
Bij slecht weer is de toegang tot de verdiepingen van de toren gesloten voor het publiek.
