The Jacquemart

The city of Montbard is the city of the naturalist Georges-Louis Leclerc, Count of Buffon, who was born there in 1707 and also of Daubenton, the mother of the future Saint-Bernard, Aleth de Montbard, was born at the castle which no longer exists for a long time and whose site Buffon redeveloped into a park.
A jaquemart clock was intended to make time heard. The Jacquemart de Montbard was given in 1430 by Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy. It sits on the roof of City Hall.
