De Slag bij Laubressel zag het belangrijkste geallieerde leger van veldmaarschalk Karl Philipp, prins van Schwarzenberg, die een driedelige convergente aanval op het zwakkere leger van maarschalk Jacques MacDonald lanceerde. De Franse troepen onder maarschalk Nicolas Oudinot kregen de grootste klap van de strijd, waarin de geallieerden probeerden hun linkervleugel te omsingelen. De Fransen lieten Troyes achter en trokken westwaarts als gevolg van de actie. Het dorp Laubressel ligt 10 kilometer ten oosten van Troyes.
