Sadirac, een klein dorp op 20 km van Bordeaux, ligt verscholen in het hart van de heuvels van de Entre-deux-Mers en is een belangrijk pottenbakkerscentrum. In zijn ondergrond ligt een schat: een blauwe klei met een grote plastische kwaliteit die bijzonder gewaardeerd wordt door pottenbakkers. De traditie van het aardewerk in Sadirac gaat terug tot de oudheid, met een belangrijke ontwikkeling vanaf de 14e eeuw tot het einde van de 19e eeuw. In de gemeente Sadirac waren vijftig ovens in bedrijf, waarrond een hele activiteit was georganiseerd, onderbroken door het stoken. Sommige ovens zijn nog zichtbaar, zoals de reconstructie van de middeleeuwse oven bij het Maison de la Poterie.
