Het gebouw, dat het werk is van de architect François Lombard, herbergt een algemene bibliotheek en verschillende gespecialiseerde afdelingen op een oppervlakte van 4.000 m², verdeeld over twee niveaus, waar de activiteiten zijn ondergebracht in comfortabele ruimtes.
De mediatheek in het stadscentrum verwelkomt niet alleen lezers, maar alle soorten publiek die variëren naargelang de geprogrammeerde activiteiten of evenementen.
Het is de roeping van de mediatheek om cultuur binnen het bereik te brengen van elk publiek dat door haar deuren komt.
