Het stuwmeer van Miallet, gelegen in het hart van de Périgord Vert, werd tussen 1988 en 1992 aangelegd om het lage debiet van de Côle en de Dronne te ondersteunen en zo de irrigatie van graangewassen mogelijk te maken.
In 1998 werd het gebied geklasseerd als kwetsbaar natuurgebied (ENS) en buiten zijn oorspronkelijke bestemming maakt het het behoud van aquatische soorten en de regelmatige aanwezigheid van sedentaire of trekvogels mogelijk.
Met een parcours van ongeveer 8 km (PDIPR) rond het stuwmeer, is de stuwdam een plaats voor wandelingen en educatieve uitstapjes (interpretatieparcours, ornithologisch observatorium, enz.)
