Deze tumulus is een grafheuvel. Het torentje in het midden is een latere constructie. Het Limousin-gebergte telde ooit een groot aantal grafheuvels, gegroepeerd in tumulusvelden op de toppen en bergkammen, die te zien zijn in de vorm van subcirkelvormige heuvels. Opgravingen van deze heuvels, die gedateerd kunnen worden van de 8e eeuw na Christus tot de 1e eeuw na Christus, onthullen vaak een interne architectuur die beschermd wordt door een stenen bedekking; een centrale functie herbergt vaak een lijkkist en soms een begraafplaats.
Toegankelijk via het wandelpad 'Autour du Bois de Crozat' of het Sentier des Poètes.
