Het staatsbos van Mareuil, nabij Chauvigny, een uitgestrekt eikenbos van meer dan 660 ha, wordt duurzaam beheerd door het Office National des Forêts.
Naast de houtproductie en de bescherming van de biodiversiteit is het onthaal van het publiek een van de functies van het bos: het beschikt over 4 openbare ontvangstruimten met tafels, informatiepanelen en parkeerplaatsen. Drie bewegwijzerde paden stellen de bezoekers ook in staat het bos op een speelse of sportieve manier te ontdekken, dankzij het educatieve ontdekkingspad, het sportieve pad en het mountainbikepad.
