Un vasto bosco di querce di oltre 660 ettari, la foresta demaniale di Mareuil, vicino a Chauvigny, è gestita in modo sostenibile dall'Office National des Forêts.
Oltre alla produzione di legname e alla tutela della biodiversità, l'accoglienza del pubblico è una delle funzioni della foresta: dispone di 4 aree di accoglienza del pubblico attrezzate con tavoli, pannelli informativi e parcheggi. Tre sentieri segnalati permettono inoltre ai visitatori di scoprire la foresta in modo ludico o sportivo grazie al sentiero didattico di scoperta, al sentiero sportivo e al sentiero per mountain bike.
