De kern van deze collectie, bijeengebracht door Henri Aymard (1878 - 1956), bestaat uit 35 Romaanse kapitelen uit de 12e eeuw, een tiental abacussen en 2 portaalvoussoirs. Het geheel heeft de vorm van een middeleeuwse kapel. Het is geen gebedsplaats, maar eerder een decor dat in het begin van de 20e eeuw werd nagebouwd en waarin de 3 belangrijkste kunstuitingen van de middeleeuwen werden gecombineerd: beeldhouwkunst, schilderkunst en glas-in-lood.
