Houthakkers werkten van oktober tot juni in het hart van het bos en schuilden in een met schors bedekte hut die ze aan het begin van het seizoen zelf bouwden. De hut diende als werkplaats, eetkamer en slaapzaal voor de arbeiders. Er was een bank in het midden waar het hout werd gezaagd, gereedschap hing aan het frame, een stoel en een open haard in de vloer. Deze hardhouten arbeidershut werd in 2016 gebouwd in het hart van het bos van Boubon en is te zien tijdens wandeltochten (op het pad "bos van Boubon") of tijdens een speurtocht van Tèrra Aventura (op het pad "bos van Boubon")
