Calvarieberg opgericht "ter ere van Jacques Riandet en Gabrielle Pitollet, zijn vrouw". De familie Riandet komt typisch uit Aubigny, net als de familie Pittolet. Jacques kreeg de bijnaam "de jongste" omdat zijn oom "de oudste" en zijn vader "de jongste" ook Jacques heetten, en ze waren allemaal wijnboeren in Aubigny! Het koppel trouwde in Montsaugeon, de provinciestad tijdens de Franse Revolutie, op 10 Pluviôse, Jaar VII van de Franse Republiek, Eén en Ondeelbaar (29 januari 1799). Het is waarschijnlijk dat deze calvarieberg werd gebouwd na het Concordaat, een overeenkomst getekend op 26 Messidor An IX (15 juli 1801) door de 1e Consul Bonaparte en Paus Pius VII voor het herstel van de katholieke, apostolische en roomse religie in Frankrijk.
